Partnerships
Today the OGI has partners in Ukraine, the United States of America, Turkey, the Russian Federation, Romania, Moldova, Hungary, Canada and Belarus.
The network of the partners was created as a result of implementation of various cooperative projects during 1996-2002.
Partners of the projects, managed by the OGI, are other non-governmental organizations (NGOs), enterprises, municipalities, central and local governments, international organizations and technical assistance programmes implemented by the UNDP, USAID, TACIS etc.
Since January 1999 the OGI has been granted with the Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation with the United Nations Office in Ukraine.
Approach:
The OGI is gradually achieving its objectives through implementing specific programmes / projects in cooperation with its partners in development. Among the major donors, that have supported the OGI's projects during 1996-2002 are
- the International Renaissance [George Soros] Foundation (Kyiv, Ukraine),
- the United Nations Development Program,
- the Regional Environmental Center for CEE (Szentendre, Hungary),
- ISAR - West NIS Office,
- the Environmental Foundation of Turkey,
- the Academy for Educational Development (USAID),
- the Global Green Grants Fund of the Tides Foundation,
and a number of Ukrainian private companies.
